Food systems encompass every step involved in feeding a population—from production, processing, distribution, and consumption to waste management. A well-functioning food system ensures food security, supports local economies, promotes environmental sustainability, and adapts to changing climate and market conditions.

Our work in food systems focuses on strengthening each link in the chain through innovation, education, and sustainable practices. In Egypt, we design integrated models that connect smallholder farmers to markets, encourage value-added processing, reduce post-harvest losses, and promote nutrition-sensitive agriculture. By embracing circular economy principles and smart technologies, we aim to build inclusive, efficient, and climate-resilient food systems that can meet the demands of a growing population while protecting natural resources.
